The February citizen chosen to be recognized has committed his time and energy in helping to make Rapid City a better place in which to live and raise a family. Bob Case has been a resident of Rapid City since 1990. He attended the South Dakota School of Mines in the 1970's and, after living in several other areas, returned to Rapid City to work and raise his family. Three years ago, Mr. Case became involved with the Roosevelt Park Neighborhood Watch Program and took over the leadership role in September 2001. He has freely volunteered a lot of personal time to be a voice for the Roosevelt Park community area. He attends numerous civic meetings aimed at improving the North Rapid City area and Rapid City in general. Officer Ron Terviel, who nominated Bob, said, "Bob has a genuine concern for the needs of, not only the area in which he resides, but for all of Rapid City. He is a humble man whose quiet dignity, along with his organizational skills and ability to communicate with others what the needs and concerns of people are, is an asset to our community. Bob's willingness to take valuable family time and donate it to help his neighbors is what community policing is all about." Bob has four children; Nick attends
SD School of Mines & Technology, Beth attends South Dakota State
University, Angie attends Black Hill State University and Laura is a
third grader at EB Bergquist. Bob is an active member of St. Therese
Parish and works as a quality engineer at SCI. |
