The June citizen chosen to be recognized has given his time to volunteering in our community. The award is presented tonight to Leonard Bryant of Rapid City.
Leonard Bryant came to Rapid City via the United States Air Force, retiring in 1975. He worked for Control Data for a number of years, and then retired from a TV repair business in 2000. Leonard volunteers for the Sheriff's Office, handling the video of the meetings, worked for juvenile services and as a RSVP volunteer. Leonard spends a great deal of time volunteering at nursing homes to let seniors know that someone cares about them. He is on the Board of Directors for Minneluzahan Sr. Center helping with their rummage sales and other fund raising activities. Leonard is an active member of the Knollwood Heights Methodist Church and TREA.
Those who nominated Leonard attest to his caring attitude, giving of his time, talents and spirit. Leonard has continually helped those less fortunate and helps seniors at every opportunity. Leonard believes that volunteering to assist others is what God wants of him and commits his energy to helping others.
Leonard is married to Rashinda and has
two daughters, Marlene and Trivina living in Rapid City. Son Reggie
lives in Germany and Leonard IV and Gelena live in Baltimore. |
