Congratulations to
Donald J. Brunner!


In partnership with the Veterans Coordination Commission, we are pleased to present the January, 2007 Veteran of the Month Recognition to Donald J. Brunner.

Don is a native of Durand, Wisconsin and entered the United States Air Force in December, 1952. Don served in many locations throughout the United States, Europe, Vietnam, Thailand and two tours in North Africa (Libya). He was on flying status for sixteen of his twenty-three years in the Air Force and qualified as a Flight Engineer. Don retired as a Senior Master Sergeant while stationed at Minot AFB, North Dakota.

Don’s military decorations and awards include: Air Force Commendation Medal w/OLC, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/Bronze Device, Air Force Good Conduct w/4OLC, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal w/Bronze Star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon w/4 OLC, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Don was qualified to wear the Chief Air Crew Badge w/Star and Cluster wreath for his longevity and dedication while on flying status over fifteen years.

Don retired from the Air Force in 1975 and began his other career as owner/rancher at the Brunner Quarter and Paint Horse Ranch in Rapid Valley. He is married to Patty, a retired speech language pathologist. He has a stepson Brad Beauvais and family living in Pennsylvania. Don is a life member of TREA, past-president of Chapter 29 and has held the offices of 1st, 2nd, 3rd Vice President as well as 3 year, 2 year and 1 year on the Board of Directors.
