RE: Revisions to Standard Specifications
This letter is notice that the City of Rapid City Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction has been revised.
The Standard Specifications and Standard Details may be downloaded from the City's website at www.rcgov.org, or hardcopies may be ordered for $50 per volume by calling the Engineering Services Division at (605) 394-4154. A CD with the complete volume of the Standard Specifications, 2004 Edition, including Standard Details, in PDF format is also available.
The 2004 edition of the Standard Specifications will be effective on June 12, 2004 and shall apply as follows:
• For all City funded design contracts awarded on or after June 12, 2004. The City may, at its discretion, require the use of the 2004 Edition Specifications on design contracts awarded prior to June 12, 2004.
• For all City funded construction projects advertised for bids on or after August 1, 2004.
• Work requiring a permit which is issued after August 1, 2004.
Attached is a summary of the changes to the standard specifications. Each user of the specifications is strongly encouraged to review the specifications to determine whether the changes affect their work.
